WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE SMOKIES
⚠️ Insider Alert: Wildfire Updates in the Park
The Rabbit Creek Fire (~111 acres ) is now 100% contained, while the Fox Gap Fire (~112 acres) is nearly contained. Some park areas affected by these wildfires have reopened.
You should still expect some temporary closures and road restrictions in parts of the park. Visitors should heed all signage and avoid closed areas for safety. Check the park conditions at NPS.

TRAGEDY IN THE MOUNTAINS
A Fall on Alum Cave Trail
A 65-year-old woman tragically died after falling approximately 60 feet from a cliff along the popular Alum Cave Trail in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This marks the fifth death in the park so far this year. Hikers are reminded to exercise caution on rugged trails.
LOCAL TIPS
Park & Trail Safety: Due to recent incidents, hikers are urged to stay on marked trails and be cautious near cliffs, especially on Alum Cave Trail.
Transportation Tip: Use the Pigeon Forge trolley system for easy, stress-free travel around town.
Local Events Reservations: Many local events have limited seating— early registration is recommended to secure your spot.
